Design
This time, we were tasked with designing a flat located within the Blumental area. The owner’s original intention of letting this flat was scrapped during the designing period and the flat was now to serve as a place of residence for the owner themselves.
The clearly-defined style of our client, making use of the colder palettes offered by steel, concrete plaster and black accentuated elements allowed us to create a modern-looking urban environment. The northern feel with subtle French elements enters the flat through the dominant glass partition in the main living area and the glass wardrobe in the bedroom.
In addition to glass surfaces, the modern look is also enhanced by using steel frames, which, as a result of being well-received, allowed us to open up the space to unconventional options, cementing its unique feel.

The kitchen boasts a large kitchen island equipped with a modern hob with a built-in retractable extractor hood. Together with the bright cabinets, the dark appliances create a contrasting blend of functionality and style. The use of mirrors behind the worktops allowed us to make the space feel bigger and brighter.
Past the kitchen island, we find a black dining table with chairs, which seemingly separates the kitchen from the living room area without compromising the unified style present in the entire room. An abundance of light is brought into the kitchen by a trio of black Muuto designer lights.
Materials
We respected the client’s wishes when choosing the proper materials. We augmented the grey laminate flooring by adding sprayed MDF and the aforementioned steel frames, which are, together with dark tinted glass and concrete plaster, an inseparable part of any stylish city flat. Wood decoration is also present in the study and bedroom.

Disposition
Layout of this apartment is fairly comfortable. There is enough room for everything. Although it is located in the crowded and noisy city center, every room has a balcony. Living room and study is facing the street whereas bedroom offers quieter space to relax facing the backyard.
Living room
Two round coffee tables adorn the centre of the room in front of the silver leather sofa Zuiver and Muuto. The space in the corner we utilized by installing small bookshelves. The sizeable windows bring in a lot of natural light and the window seat, in addition to housing a heater, allows the client to watch the flickering lights of the city at night. The pale wall segment with an abundance of storage space and an integrated TV hidden behind a panel is another unique feature of the living room.
Furniture
Several memorable pieces were implemented in the flat, from custom-made ones boasting a unique look, to designer ones augmenting the overall feeling with their dark colours. The stark black and white contrast extends its influence over the space and light distribution with a clever placement of mirrors. Designer pieces, such as the coffee tables and NORR11 chairs, are an inseparable part of the overall impression thanks to their simple yet efficient design.
Bedroom
The impressive wardrobe draws attention immediately upon entering the room. The tinted glass, the steel frame, ample storage space and built-in lighting make it the indisputable centrepiece of the room. Other than the wardrobe, a comfortable bed, a round mirror and designer lights Artemide and Muuto can also be found here.
Study
The simple but highly functional study combines a desk, a little bit of storage space and a small wardrobe in its steel frame, helping keep all essential work-related items handy. Thanks to its placement next to the windows, the desk receives enough daylight, making reading and writing much more comfortable.
Bathroom and toilet
The bright bathroom is designed in a way that allows for maximum comfort. Not only does the bathroom have a shower and two sinks, a sizeable bathtub is also present under the large mirror. A separate toilet with its own sink feels modern and bright as a result of mirror surfaces and LED lights.
